The Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve protects 48,000 acres along the Chilkat, Chilkoot and Tsirku rivers — hosting up to 4,000 bald eagles when late-run salmon attract birds from across the region. Rafting, jet-boat and guided viewing tours access the river corridor with expert interpretation.
Even on summer cruise calls, eagles nest and hunt throughout the preserve. Photography tours target active perches, waterfalls and salmon-catching bears where conditions allow.
